44th AEJ Congress and General Assembly in Oviedo (5-7 October 2006)

The Spanish AEJ section (Asociación de Periodistas Europeos) in cooperation with the Fundación Principe de Asturias are organising the 44th International Congress and General Assembly of the Association of European Journalists in Oviedo on 5-7 October 2006.

Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Asturias will inaugurate officially the Congress, joined by the President of the Autonomous Community of Asturias, the Mayor of Oviedo and the President of the Fundación Principe de Asturias.

The theme of the Congress is: 'The EU's International Duties: Journalistic Power and Responsibility'. One of the keynote speakers will be Javier Solana, EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy.
