Sanofi-Aventis Cancer Media Prize 2004

Convaincue que la connaissance est l'une des premières armes pour lutter contre le cancer, la Fondation Aventis, en partenariat avec l'Association des Journalistes Européens (AEJ), a lancé le "European Cancer Media Prize 2004". Ce prix est ouvert à tous les journalistes européens et récompensera 3 d’entre eux pour leur article écrit sur le thème du cancer et ses traitements.
La Fondation Aventis souhaite ainsi contribuer à une meilleure information auprès du public sur les mécanismes, la prévention et la prise en charge de la maladie afin de susciter une plus grande solidarité envers les malades et leurs familles et faire évoluer le regard de la société.
Les prix alloués sont de 5000 Euros, 3000 et 1000 Euros.

Convinced that knowledge is one of the first weapons to fight cancer, the Fondation Aventis in partnership with the European Association of Journalists (AEJ) has decided to create the “European Cancer Media Prize 2004”. This prize is open to all European journalists and will honour 3 reporters who will contribute to increasing knowledge and improving cancer patient management through their publications in print media.
Thus, the Fondation Aventis wants to be a major player in increasing knowledge among the public at large about the mechanisms of the disease, its prevention and patient management in order to create more solidarity of patients and their families. This is turn will hopefully change the way our society looks upon this disease in general.
The top 3 articles will be selected by an independent jury and awarded with a 5.000, 3.000 and 1.000 Euros cash prize from the Fondation Aventis.
